THE MOST DANGEROUS MAN IN THE WORLD
(HAS NOTHING TO LOSE)

Well I’m nailing down my windows
and I’m locking all my doors
Take a hammer to the TV I don’t care anymore
I’m tuning out my radio and I’m rippin’ out my phone
Cause I’m ready to live the rest of my life all alone
This ain’t about no blues

Have you ever seen an animal that’s caught in a trap
Well that’s just how I feel and I’m startin’ to snap
I’m savin’ up supplies and I’m goin’ on a binge
And I won’t be satisfied until I get revenge
This ain’t about no blues
Yeah I'm beyond the blues

The most dangerous man in the world
The most dangerous man in the world
Got nothin’ to lose

Are you listenin' You're not listenin’
Pretty soon you can’t help but hear me
Pay attention to the tension
And the cause that I’m representin’
Feel the danger from the anger
In the eyes of every stranger
This ain’t about no blues
Yeah I’m beyond the blues

The most dangerous man in the world
The most dangerous man in the world
Got nothin’ to lose

Got a cabin in the mountains
where I know that I can hide
Got some wires and some powder
and some dynamite inside
I can feel the pressure every time I hear the news
If it’s violence that you want
then I’ll be glad to light the fuse

This ain’t about no blues
Yeah I'm beyond the blues

See the marchers in the street
as they hold their banners high
About ideas that they’ll fight for
& they don’t care if they die
Well I’m tired of the rhetoric
as I hear them scream and shout
If there’s glory in their death
then I can help them out

This ain’t about the blues
Yeah, I'm beyond the blues

The most dangerous man in the world
The most dangerous man in the world
Got nothin’ to lose
Got nothin’ to lose
Got nothin’ to lose
I got nothin’ to lose

The Wait Of The World

I hear the song they’re singin’
But the words don’t apply to me
Detached is what I’m feeling
Like Little Anthony
Cause I’m on the outside lookin’ in

And what becomes of the broken hearted
They asked the question I need to know
And I’m searchin’ for an answer
When love leaves where does it go?
And that’s the way for me it’s always been
When you’re on the outside lookin’ in
And I’m on the outside rememberin’
When it wasn’t such a struggle to survive
I made my way in this world and I felt alive
I didn’t have a fear of being on my own
But now I’m singin’ I’m so tired of being alone

So if you hear these words I’m singin’
Then you know where I am tonight
The wait of the world is bringing
An emptiness that I feel tonight
It’s been so long that I can’t remember when
And only love can break a heart
Only love can mend it again
When you’re on the outside lookin’ in

What becomes of the broken hearted
They asked the question I need to know
I’m searchin’ for the answer
When love leaves where does it go?
And that’s the way for me it’s always been
I’m on the outside lookin’
Where only the lonely can know when
Only love can mend it again
When they’re on the outside lookin’ in

A BIG CLOUD

A big cloud is rollin’ my way
And where is comes from I just can’t say
But it’s as big as the sky that it covers in black
The sun went down and it never came back

Big cloud is here to protect to me
Against the truth that I can’t see
And he’s there in the morning
and he follows me all day
Been with me since you’ve gone away

Big cloud say he’s my friend
And that he’ll be with me till the end
And he’s glad that you’re gone
and that he’s here to stay
And if you really cared you’d never gone away

Big cloud take away my pain
And when I sleep I can’t feel a thing
And he took away the day
and he blocked out all the light
Now the only time I sleep is at night
The only time I sleep is at night

And I’ll never be lonely again
Big cloud has brought along his friends
And he introduced me to the dark
and his friend the rain
And I’ll never be lonely again
Big cloud is rollin my way
Big cloud take away my pain
And drown my sorrows in the rain
Big cloud blockin’ out the sun
(Repeat 7 times)

I’LL NEVER SEE THE SUN AGAIN

In the beginning, I use to hear the same old line
That people say when they don’t understand
Like it just takes a little time

And I wanted to believe them
Ah their words came easily
But by the end of the day I was still alone
With it wasn’t meant to be

And every time it starts to rain
I think that one day it will end
But now if feels like I’ll never see the sun again

Words can be sympathetic
Wiping the tears from your face
But they can’t conceal the sorrow that we feel
We say they’ve gone to a better place

And it will happen eventually
When someone you love will leave
And it’ll feel like you’ll never see the sun again
Whoa you’ll feel like you’ll never see the sun

It’s not their fault they’re just sayin’ things that
they’ve always heard
But when you’re all alone with a heart that’s
empty it can’t be filled
with words

And in our lives a little rain must fall
Somebody said that but I can’t recall
But I think it means I’ll never see the sun again
Yeah, it feels like I’ll never see the sun

In a world full of people,
I can’t make sense of it all
I don’t think we’re meant to live this way
It’s like a puzzle with pieces gone

And though the moon may be shining bright
For me it rains all night
And it feels like I’ll never see the sun again

And I’m told this pain will someday end
And maybe so but I don’t know when
Cause now it feels like
I’ll never see the sun again
Yes it feels like I’ll never see the sun

Sun…. I'll Never See The Sun
Sun…. I'll Never See The Sun Again

MY RADIO SUCKS

I remember long ago when I was very young
Pretending to be Keith Moon
while I played my drums
Lay in bed at night and listen to my radio
Where I figured I’d learn everything
I’d need to know

In my room I listen to the Beatles and the Stones
A teenage rebel but I never felt alone
From coast to coast I listened to friends I’d never met
Which makes it harder now since I can’t forget

Cause my radio sucks
From early morning to late at night
On the talk shows where they fight
It’s the left wing against the right
And the blacks versus the whites
But it all comes down to commercials and big bucks
My radio sucks

When I hear and old song I remember what I did
And where I was when I first heard it as a kid
And if radio was worse I can’t remember when
As I listen to it now… Compared to then

My radio Sucks
There’s a man on the radio
He called his mom a bitch and ho
Why he’s angry I don’t know
But I’m turnin’ off this show
And if you like this stuff I wish you all the luck
Cause my radio sucks

(Deejay talk over chorus)
Less talk more music/less talk more music...
It’s a money give away/money give away...
Less talk more music/less talk more music....
There’s no deejay it’s an automated play
it’s a money give away it’s a….

And when the country music shows
Won’t play Merle Haggard or George Jones
It’s a sign of the times and I guess we’re really stuck
Cause my radio sucks

Talkin’ bout my generation
Talkin’ bout my generation

BIOGRAPHY

I knew some guys in a band and they had a hit
They made a lot of money then the songwriter quit
Now they’re still out there singing his songs
And they got some bad habits but the monies all gone

Well they wrote about me in Rolling Stone
They said I couldn’t miss but I proved em’ wrong
Well that was over twenty five years ago
Now I’m still standing but the hype’s all gone

Well it just goes to show you,
you can make your plans
But the bottom line it’s out of your hands
Some said I couldn’t make it and I never will
Didn’t listen to em’ then and I ain’t listening still

They said to go to Nashville Tennessee
If you’re looking for a place to bury your dreams
When the doors don’t open
and they don’t answer your phone
You’ll click your heels singing
there’s no place like home

Well I don’t care cause I’m taking my stand
Got a hand full of songs and a five piece band
Won’t know until I try but I think I can
Never learned how to quit that’s not who I am
And it just goes to show you,
you can make your plans
But the bottom line it’s out of your hands
Some said I couldn’t make it and I never will
Didn’t listen to em’ then and I ain’t listening still

CAFFEINE

Caffeine Caffeine
Makes me play real fast and I want to sing
Caffeine Caffeine
I like coffee I like tea but most of all I like caffeine
Caffeine Caffeine

I get up in the morning and start the day real slow
Fire up the pot and have a hot cup of joe
Caffeine Caffeine
I could go on forever feelin’ like I’m seventeen
Caffeine Caffeine
I can’t sit still I’ll let my fingers do the walkin’

Caffeine Caffeine
Ten cups of coffee just like Benzedrine
Caffeine Caffeine
I jump high and it keeps me lean

Some people hold their cups and curl their pinky rings
Take a few sips and talk about many things
But that’s not me I can’t be apart of that scene
I’m in a hurry I’ll just down some chocolate covered coffee beans

Caffeine Caffeine
From Atlanta to Nashville and down to Killeen
Caffeine Caffeine
Juan Valdez has gotten nothing on me

Drivin’ cross the country
my eyes are growing tired
Double espresso
and for a couple more hours I’m wired
(and I think it’s working)

Caffeine Caffeine
Makes me play real fast and I want to sing
Keeps me up for days
while I play across this country

DON’T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU

Well the doors wide open and I won’t you back
If I could make you stay I wouldn’t want it that way
If you need I’ll help you pack

Yeah you got so many problems,
don’t know where to begin
Or what they’re all about
Don’t let the door hit you in the ass
on your way out

Ah my best friend told me,
he’d like to be me for just one night
And I wish it could be
and then he’d finally see
what I see in the morning light

Well the grass is always greener on the other side
But there’s a lesson he’d learn no doubt  (he’d say)
Don’t let the door hit you in the ass
when you walk out

I see the guys staring at you walking down the street
And they wish they were in my shoes
But if they’d learn the facts after they caught your act
They’d change their attitude
And if they took you away I’m sure after a day
From a distance I’d hear them shout
Don’t let the door hit you in the ass
on your way out

Don’t let the door hit you in the ass
when you walk out
Yeah you look good but your personalities
are five things I can do without
If there’s a guy out there
that wants to take on the job
And try to figure what you’re all about
Don’t let the door hit you in the ass
Ah then I’ll be free at last
Cause I can’t move to fast
To let you out
Don’t let the door hit you in the ass
when you walk out

FADE AWAY

Well I never thought I’d ever feel this way
Or use these words of rage but I just gotta say
That I hope I’ll be around
when they finally put you down
Before I lose my shine & fade away

Cause I know one day they will figure out
All the words that you use
you took from someone else’s mouth
And I’m sure I’ll be around
when they put you underground
Before I lose my light and fade away

Yeah fade away fade away
To a special place in hell where you should stay

And you’ve always lived by your golden rule
Yeah, you try to do it to them,
before they can to you
So before my life is through
I hope to see the end of you
Before I lose my time please fade away

Ah fade away, yeah fade away
To a special place in hell where you should stay

Well you pat me on my back once or twice
But I know you’re only lookin’
for a place to plant your knife
And my anger will be through
when they throw the dirt on you
Before I lose my light and fade away
Yeah before I lose my light and fade

Yeah fade away
Well fade away
Ah fade away
Ah fade away

LOVE NOR MONEY

He went lookin’ for the money
He went searchin’ for the fame
And he learned how to play the guitar
But he never learned to play the game
Money can allude you
where you’ll end up with none
But fame can be found at either end of a gun
He played the blues with a smile on his face
He sang love songs with hurt in his heart
And he talked about the world coming together
As his world was falling apart
They say money, money, money
makes the world go round
And just when you thought you were movin’ on up
It pulls you right back down

Ah the hunger for money can take you far away
When weeks turn into months and then years
And you’re a stranger to your friends
One minute you’re on top where your name is known
When they turn it upside down
you’re on the bottom standin’ all alone
You’ll play the blues with a smile on your face
Talking about love with none in your heart
And you’ll sing about the world comin’ together
While your world is fallin’ apart
They say money, money, money
makes the world go round (yeah, yeah)
And just when you thought you were movin’ on up
It pulls you right back down

He played the blues with a smile on his face
He sang love songs with hurt in his heart
And he talked about the world coming together
As his world was falling apart
They say money, money, money
makes the world go round (yeah, yeah)
And just when you thought you were movin’ on up
It pulled you right back down
And just when he thought he was movin’ on up
His world came crashin’ down

A COAT WITHOUT POCKETS

A coat without pockets and nothing to eat
You’re talking about bootstraps
and there’s no shoes on his feet
The words seem so empty and a bit insincere
When you talk about the other side
and you’ve never been there

Well it ain’t so funny from the back of the line
When it’s always someone else’s gold
that loses it’s shine
When they talk about the future
and the road up ahead
It’s a toll road for others and you live on a dead-end

But you’ve always said
from your penthouse up high
That people look like ants below
Well after a while that’s just how they feel
Until you’re down there you could never know

And you don’t feel the cold
when it’s just a story you’ve read
And hunger is just a word
when you’ve always been fed
And struggle is like a painting
that you view from far away
When you’ve never lived hand to mouth
and day by day

And I’ve heard you say many times
But for the grace of God there go I
You’ll never now how true that saying is
Until you’ve broken down and don’t know why

But still you say from your penthouse up high
That people look like ants below
Well after a while that’s just how we feel
Until we’ve been there we can never know

But I’ve heard you say many times
But for the grace of God there go I
You’ll never now how true that saying is
Until you’ve broken down and don’t know why

A DEEPER BLUE

And when the rain falls from the sky
It won’t feel any different
than those tears rollin’ down from my eyes
The pain since you been gone
Reminds me that I am the lonely one

And when you hear a man singin’ the blues
You can tell when there’s nothing more to lose
And there’s nothing more to lose after goodbye
And there’s nothing left to do but cry

The pain in my heart since you been gone
Reminds me that I'm the lonely one

2003 Darryl Rhoades

I’LL COME BACK TO YOU

Lost in your dreams, but if it’s true
That we live forever… I will return to you
And I know that time will bind the love we knew
When you close your eyes I will come back to you

And if it’s true that love’s forever
We’ll always be together
When you close your eyes
And I come back to you

2003 Darryl Rhoades

 THE I OF THE EGO

You’re not listening when you’re talking
You’re not seeing with your eyes closed
Take the hint and learn the lesson
That everybody already knows

You can’t be the center of attention
When you’re on the outside looking in
You can’t focus on the future
If you haven’t learned from where you’ve been

I have been where you are standing
In the shoes that you now wear
All the words that you have spoken
All your fears that I have shared

Taking credit for successes
In some people you’ve never met
Head held high in self assurance
Saying things you’ll one day regret

Talking loud as a substitution
For logic won’t help your argument
All alone in your isolation
 Never noticed where everybody went

In our strength we define our weakness
For some there’s no joy until there’s pain
Walk the world in search for wisdom
But in the end you’re still the same
And I have been where you are standing
Felt the hunger that you share
All the words that you’re now speaking
Are only true when you’ve been there

THE FAILURES OF SUCCESS

Getting’ there was hard … staying was worse
When your dream revealed itself as a curse (yeah)
Success, you always need it
Now you’ve caught the beast
you’re gonna have to feed it
And who you’ve become is anybody’s guess
Cause now you’re startin’ to learn about
the failures of success

Won’t you take a look around you
People you don’t know surround you
And your old friends astound you
Cause you think they want something from you
But that’s just paranoia on you
And you can’t hear what they’re sayin’ to you
Cause the words are just shootin’ through you

This is not an “I knew you when song”
It’s just that I don’t know you now
Take a look around, it’s a long way down
Is it everything you thought it would be?
Is it everything you thought it would be?  (yeah)

When you were strung out but still my friend
I’m lookin’ back I liked you better then
Now success has finally found you
It’s standin’ on your back to get a better view
And who you’ve become I really couldn’t guess
But now you’re startin’ to learn about
the failures of success

So I take a look around you
And the new friends that have found you
When the fear starts to surround you
Cause you think they want something from you
The paranoia growin’ on you
You can’t hear the words I’m saying to you
Cause the truth is just shootin’ thru you
This is not an “I knew you when song”
It’s just that I don’t know you now
Take a look around… take a look around
Ah take a look around…..

Cause who you’ve become I really couldn’t guess
Now you’re startin’ to learn about
the failures of success

A STREET WHERE NO ONE LIVES

The lights shined bright but that was years ago
When the darkness comes no one can ever know
A familiar stranger’s face
A name that can’t be placed
In the ruins you see the waste
But someday maybe…..

If there’s a prayer for me to make this right
On bended knees is where I’ll be tonight
Where your courage is unknown
Like your faith until it’s shown
While you’re standing all alone
On a street where no one lives

Words like a knife in a world that doesn’t bleed
It’s only flesh wounds and it never cuts that deep
Into the heartless where they’re never meant to feel
Pity the heartless cause they never will but still…

They say he’s got the whole world in his hands
Please come a day when I might understand
Like a vacant car that’s been stripped down for parts
And can still be seen sometimes where it sits parked
On a street where no one lives
On a street where no one…………

If there’s a prayer to say to make this right
Or a battlefield where I can take the fight
Find the strength to carry on
And a path to walk upon
When I’m standing all alone
On a street where no one lives
On a street where no one lives
On a street where no one lives

If there’s a prayer for me to make this right
On bended knees is where I’ll be tonight
They say he’s got the whole world in his hands
Please come a day when I might understand
If there’s a prayer for me to make this right
Or a battlefield where I can take the fight

I DON’T BELIEVE

Drop me in the water
won't wash my sins away
Drop me in the water
won't wash my sins away
Came in kickin’ and screamin’
goin’ out the same way

Won’t take away my troubles
with words I don’t believe
Won’t take away my troubles
with words I don’t believe
I’ll be rid of my troubles
and this world when I leave

Won’t be sorry Sunday morning
for what I did the night before
I ain’t sorry Sunday morning
for what I did the night before
You know I’m gonna mess up along the way
I ain’t perfect that’s for sure

I don’t need to use the good book
for me to prove that I’m right
I ain’t using no good book for me
to prove that I’m right
Ain’t no book ever helped me
when I’m in the middle of a fight

So drop me in the water
sayin’ words I don’t believe
Drop me in water
sayin’ words I don’t believe
Words and water won’t help me
with where I’m goin’ when I leave

CAN’T BE THAT GOOD

Well she said I do and then she didn’t
I don’t think I can spend my life with it
Somebody told me that things won’t ever change

Pen in paper and head in hand
It took me a while but now I understand
There’s a lot of different ways for a man to wear a ring

Can’t be that good
for me to follow round
Can’t be that good
to give it all up and settle down

Gotta nice shine but she don’t run
The body looks good but the engine is gone
Somebody told me things won’t be the same
And that’s a shame

Can’t be that good
but then what do I know?
Can’t be that good
It maybe once was but that was long ago
Maybe once was but that was long ago

I got a dog and he’s screamin’ in pain
His food is 10 feet away he’s on a 8 foot chain
Just like that dog I can see it but it’s out of reach

She set the hook and started reelin’ in
And now I know I’ll never be the same again
Just like that dog
There’s some lesson’s you can’t teach

Can’t be that good
for me to wait around
Can’t be that good
things yeah she’s gotta look up
cause she never looks down
Gotta look up cause she never looks down

Yeah she used to be at my fingertips
But now I think I must of lost my grip
Somebody told me it was never like it seemed

Somebody help me cause it’s not fair
She looks good parked but ain’t goin’ nowhere
Ah it looks like things won’t ever change

UP IN HEAVEN

The streets are paved with gold - UP IN HEAVEN
That’s what they said - UP IN HEAVEN
But gold will lose it’s meaning - UP IN HEAVEN
After you’re dead - UP IN HEAVEN
Don’t care about the silver - UP IN HEAVEN
Don’t care about no gold - UP IN HEAVEN
But I’m a little concerned when you talk about money
When you should be thinkin’ bout your soul
(that’s right)

In heaven…you don’t need no fancy car
Up in heaven…No highway in the stars
Don’t need no cash or credit to pay for anything
And if I need to be somewhere in a hurry
I’ll just get up and start to spread my wings
(that’s right)
In heaven…you don’t need no gasoline
Up in heaven…just sit all day and sing
No mansion over the hilltop need be waitin for me
And if I need a hotel room there’ll be one awaitin’
Cause in heaven everything is free

Up in heaven…Everybody’s singin’ loud
Up in heaven…Good acoustics in the clouds
And everybody’s singin’ in perfect harmony
And when they meet together on Judgement day
It’s hell for those who are singin’ out of key

IT WAS MY CLONE

Well you called me up this morning
And you chewed me out on the phone
You said last night I didn’t treat you right
It wasn’t me it was my clone

Yeah you said I slept with your sister
But I swear last night I was alone
And I was at home watching TV till dawn
So it had to be my clone

A scientist in a laboratory somewhere
Done sampled my DNA
You gotta know I’m not makin’ this up
Cause I’d never treat you that way

Well you said I promised to marry you
If the doctor said the rabbit died
If it was me I’d take responsibility
But it was my clone and you know he lied

Last week I got arrested
And ID’d when my picture was shown
I don’t care what you saw I never broke the law
It wasn’t me it was my clone

Well they said you got a video tape
It was taken at the robbery
You can’t believe cause your eyes deceive
And I swear it wasn’t me

He’s messin’ up my credit
At the bank he even took out a loan
Well they came this morning and repossess my car
And taken everything I own

So listen up Judge your honor
Many criminals I’m sure you’ve known
If you look in my eyes you’ll see that I ain’t lyin’
You’ll realize it was my clone

I ain’t tryin’ to tell you your business
But any fool can see that you’re wrong
I’m not the one, it’s not even my gun
I’m sure it belongs to my clone

Yeah, he’s bad to the bone and he’s always stoned
Why don’t we send in the clones

IN 68’

Chain of fools on my radio
They don’t sing em’ like Aretha no more
High School was cool and your teen years were great
But your heart stop beatin’ in 1968

Ah in 68 they wore flowers in their hair
But you left em’ both and you don’t know where
Lost in Space and just a little too late
Cause your heart stop beatin’ in 1968

They say that time wounds all heels
and I know it’s true
When they talk about you
and all the things you say & do
These days the radio play is just givin’ you the blues
But time marches on and it’s walkin’ all over you

And it ain’t true, what people say
It ain’t funny how time slips away on you
It’s just a little too late
Cause your heart stop beatin’ in 1968

The big E in Memphis was TCB
From LA to NYC and Motown,
they were dancin’ in the streets
Ah the sound of Stax left you feelin’ great
But your heart stop beatin’ in 1968

They say that time wounds all heels
and I know it’s true
When they talk about you
and all the things you say & do
These days the radio play is just givin’ you the blues
But time marches on and it’s walkin’ all over you

And it ain’t true, what people say
It ain’t funny how time slips away on you
It’s just a little too late
Cause your heart stop beatin’ in 1968

THE OLD MEN OF WAR

Well he came from Kentucky
and joined at seventeen
And he never talked about what he done
or the things that he’d seen
Until that day he’d never known
anyone as enemy
When boys quickly became men
and sometimes memories

And he fought alongside others
from France to Italy
At the Bulge he lost a brother
while in Germany
In a field full of crosses
somewhere overseas
Lie friends that he made and lost
that live in memories

And years after the battles
he’d still tear up sometimes
And then he’d get that distant
far away look in his eyes
And the movie in his head
would play the horrors that he’d seen
They were years behind but in his mind
they lived in memories

Now I still have his medals
and his lessons from the past
He said son it depends on where you stand
in the shadow that you cast
Though the old men of war are fading
but I still find him in my dreams
And he’ll always live within my heart
and in my memories

The old men of war are fading
and long since past their youth
They now build shrines to honor
the fallen and the few
Who still have their stories of what they did
and what they’d seen
And when they all have faded
they’ll still live in memories

And the lessons that he taught
I hope will make me a better man
Like the shadows that we cast
depends on how we stand

SAVIOR SELF

He ain’t a walkin’ on the water,
he ain’t lookin’ like he did before
So lay the lamb down on the alter,
he’d break the fish and bread you’d still want more
Part the seas and climb the mountain,
you thought he’d turn the water into wine
The fall from grace was nearly fatal,
you found another savior just in time

You could never stand alone
and you’ve never tried at all
So if you’re lookin’ for someone to lean on
get ready cause you know you’re bound to fall

So if you’re lookin’ for a savior
Someone to give you all the things you need
To make you whole and slightly human
And all the things that you could never be

I couldn’t walk upon the water
So you went and found somebody else
You went lookin’ for a savior
Why don’t you savior self

A TROUBLED MIND

Well I’ve been around this great big world
a time or two
And sometimes I feel it’s hard for me
to find something new
But no matter what I’m never ready
to leave it all behind
But now I hear you threw it away
for a troubled mind

Well there’s people fightin’ for another breath
nearly everyday
But now they tell me that you couldn’t take it
and you threw it all away
And then I ask myself what could I do
why couldn’t I see the signs
But they said you hid it well
with a troubled mind

A troubled mind keeps you confused
Feels like you’re always bound to lose
And when things little a tough
You walked away cause you had enough

And there’s no way to measure all the pain
that you left behind
Cause they say you threw it away
with a troubled mind

Well you pushed away everyone who cared
till there was no one around
Then you started doing things
that took you further down
And day by day you slipped away
a little at a time
Dying by degrees with a troubled mind

A troubled mind fogs up your sight
When you can’t tell wrong from right
And the pain’s too much too bare
So you give up and just don’t care

Now the pain is gone for you
but not the ones you’ve left behind
Because you threw it all away
with a troubled mind
A troubled mind
A troubled mind

WHEN FORGIVENESS AIN’T ENOUGH

She could be had for a line
And then slept with friends of mine
And years later when it didn’t matter
All was forgiven
but there’s something sad about
Old wounds that heal slow
Or sometimes not at all
